Paul Simon Says He's Up For A Simon & Garfunkel Tour
[photogallerylink id=56713 align=right] [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Paul Simon[/lastfm] says he is up for a [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Simon & Garfunkel[/lastfm] tour if [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Art Garfunkel[/lastfm]’s voice returns.
Last summer Simon & Garfunkel postponed their 2010 tour indefinitely because Garfunkel was suffering from vocal cord paralysis.
Now, Simon is kicking off a solo tour and promoting his latest album, So Beautiful or So What,
but he hasn’t forgotten his good friend Garfunkel.
When asked about Garfunkel Simon told QMI News
: “I’m supposed to have dinner with him next week, so I’ll get to hear his voice. But he issued a statement that he thought he’d be able to sing in the last quarter of this year. I hope he’s right. But this vocal cord issue has been there for more than a year now. It’s one of those injuries that has to heal itself. They can’t operate on a vocal cord, and there doesn’t seem to be any medication that can help. So it’s just rest or whatever kind of alternative medicine that can be helpful. And I’m sure he’s tried everything. But if his voice gets better, we’ll come back and do those dates.”
When asked if he was confident they’d work together again Simon added: “I would like to. I’m not totally confident that will happen, but I certainly pray it would, just for my friend’s sake. Because it’s really frustrating to be Art Garfunkel and lose your voice. Any singer can imagine how he would feel. You walk around all day and you’re singing. You just take it for granted. And then all of a sudden, you can’t do it. It would be horrible.”
