The 13th album for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]U2[/lastfm] will be a little different. According to Digital Spy, the sound engineer behind [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Gaga[/lastfm] has been brought on board by the band to create a science-fiction aura.
Producer for the band, RedOne, confirms the report but says he is unsure on how many songs will actually make the album. “We’ve put down a few ideas, but we don’t know how many will end up on there.”
When asked about the “futuristic” sound of the new album, RedOne explains that those were not his choice of words to describe it. “Bono described [the album as] futuristic. U2 going sci-fi, or something. That’s how he described it, but I don’t know.”
A Lady Gaga-sounding U2 album… what could possibly go wrong?
