But you can’t talk about ’80s new wave without mentioning the synth-pop beats of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and especially Duran Duran.
The ’80s must obviously be in vogue again, as O.M.D., Duran Duran, and several more of the decade’s new wave heroes are hitting the streets of Austin this week to headline South By Southwest.
These romantic legends brought the world chart-topping hits like “Planet Earth” and “Electricity” and made the synthesizer a viable member of the band (if not the star).
