[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Michael Jackson[/lastfm]’s first official posthumous single was released today, November 15.
“Hold My Hand” is from the forthcoming album, Micheal out December 14th. Most of the song features the vocals of singer [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Akon[/lastfm] with Jackson adding back up. Jackson’s vocals taking a back seat to Akon are controversial and some critics are less than thrilled with the song. NYDailyNew.com’s Jim Farber wrote:
“Genuine duets, constructed with both the singers’ full participation, show real chemistry between the singers — at least ideally they do. This feels every bit as padded and pieced-together as it must have been.”
The Jackson estate claims to have a handwritten letter stating that the late King of Pop wanted “Hold My Hand” to be the first single on his next project.
