Yoko Ono’s conceptual art is not always widely understood but her Imagine Peace Tower message is clear – “Imagine Peace.”

The light tower was a conceptual idea she dreamed up over 40 years ago.  Lennon wanted one for his garden.

Yoko Ono’s light tower  was finally  built on Viðey Island in Reykjavík, Iceland and ‘lit’ on October 9, 2007 in celebration of what would have been John Lennon’s 67th birthday.

This Saturday, October 9, 2010 the tower will be lit once again in celebration of what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday.  Watch this touching video to understand Yoko Ono’s lasting love for John Lennon and her wish for peace.
