We officially segue from summer to fall tonight. What about after fall — as in winter?
Fall officially arrives at 11:09pm tonight, Zug Island time. If fall is here, winter can’t be far behind. But wait a minute. I’m jumping the gun.
We are blessed with some splendid fall weather here in lower Michigan so let’s enjoy it and then worry about winter.
When Americans think of the fall color change, they often think about the movie “On Golden Pond” in New England. Well I’ve lived in Boston and taken in the fall color show in New England and I’d place Michigan equally as beautiful.
Checking on winter for just a minute, if you believe in the Old Farmer’s Almanac, here’s what to expect. The publication says winter of 2010-2011 will be colder than average for our region with slightly below normal snowfall amounts. And for what it’s worth, they’re predicting a cooler and drier spring than normal.
