The political tug of war over a new Detroit River bridge continues in Lansing.
A lot of people would like to see a second car tangled spanner to compliment the Ambassador Bridge connecting Detroit with Windsor. However, there are strong indications out of Lansing that the state Senate is not ready to take a vote on the subject. Those in the know say a vote is unlikely until sometime next year.
The state House voted earlier to okay a Michigan partnership with Canada and a contractor.
Speaking of crossing into Canada from Detroit, the one thing that has always puzzled me is why the tunnel has no name. And if they ever do decide to name it, I’ve got the perfect choice. This has a nice ring to it — The Gordie Howe Tunnel.
