Last year, CBS’s The Price Is Right conducted its first-ever nationwide contestant search; it was such a hit, they’re doing it again!
WWJ-TV is proud to host the only contestant search in Michigan, July 15th from two until seven p.m. at Gardner White Furniture in Canton. U.S. legal residents ages 18 and up are invited to audition. Two participants from WWJ-TV’s local search will be selected to fly to L.A. and attend a taping of the legendary game show.
A bidder’s spot on Contestants’ Row will be guaranteed to one of the two participants, who will learn if they are selected to “come on down” when they hear their name called during the show’s taping.
The Price Is Right is the longest running game show in Television history. Now in its 38th season on CBS, the show has been hosted by comedian, Drew Carey since the fall of 2007. Carey took over for the show’s original host, Bob Barker, who won a total of 17 Daytime Emmy Awards as host of the show between 1972 and 2007. In the summer of 2008, The Price Is Right held its first ever nationwide model search. WWJ-TV hosted the local search in Brighton, Michigan, and produced one of the Top Five finalists from across the country to appear on the show. Local Southfield beauty, Ekima White, was flown to L.A. and appeared as a model on one episode of the show. This year, The Price Is Right is holding a nationwide contestant search with local events occurring in select cities across the country, including one in the Detroit Metro area at Gardner White in Canton.
Each person auditioning at WWJ-TV’s local search on July 15th must bring a completed application, along with a photo ID.
