pete385 Happy Birthday, Pete Townshend!

It was 65 years ago today that little [lastfm]Pete Townshend[/lastfm] was born.  He’d grow up to write the world’s first rock opera and over 200 songs.  

Well known for playing lead guitar for [lastfm]The Who[/lastfm], Townshend  is also an accomplished singer and keyboardist and plays the banjo, accordion, synthesizer, piano, bass guitar and drums on his own solo albums. In addition to all of that he is  a writer, music commentator and an active champion of children’s charities.
