Forty-five years ago today on May 11, 1965 [lastfm]The Byrds[/lastfm] appeared on nationwide TV, singing “Mr. Tambourine Man” on the musical variety series Hullabaloo. Click on the more tab to watch video!

The fan who posted this to You Tube also posted some interesting commentary:

If you listen carefully, you can hear Gene Clark’s baritone vocal part in the second chorus during “In the jingle jangle morning I’ll come following you”.

This part was NOT on the record; reason being is that Gene’s vocals were on the same track as Leon Russell’s electric piano, which was taken out of the mix.

The vocals here are LIVE, while the music is the recorded backing track.
